About Me

EmilyDonahue-00933.jpg

I'm a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist.  Whether you have experienced a traumatic life event or not, trauma-informed principles of Safety, Choice, Collaboration, Trustworthiness, and Empowerment are beneficial for everyone and aid in creating an environment where you can share things that may have been unsaid for years.

I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from The George Washington University and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I am an EMDR-certified clinician.  Additionally, I participated in an intensive year-long Compassionate Inquiry program led by Dr. Gabor Maté.

I also hold a Master's in Journalism from Syracuse University, which led me into a decade-long corporate career in media & entertainment before becoming a licensed therapist. I'm a voracious reader and watch a lot of TV with my husband and rescue dog. I will always want to know what you are reading, listening to and watching!

Together, we will do brain-changing, life-enhancing, nervous system repair work. It is deep, fulfilling, and sometimes painful, but you will never be alone.

I look forward to meeting you.
